Where the language of soul and social justice meet, this collective will take you on a rhythmic and poetical journey, breaking through the landscape of hip hop as we know it.

Argus and The Liar was formed by the laconic Duigan siblings in Adelaide and has now grown into a hip hop collective spanning three states, encompassing various influences and genres. Argus works with many South Australian and interstate musicians and artists to spread messages of social justice and political action through artistic expression.
The band's members are: Joseph Duigan - lyrics; Ellie Duigan - lyrics/vocals; Lucy May - flute/vocals; Dan Davis - bass; James Francis - drums; Alice Duigan Mussared - keys/vocals; Ben Duigan - beats/artistic direction.Joseph poetically exposes inequality and inspires social reform through non-violent protest and 'lyrical mettle', while Melbournian Ellie rejects corporate hijacking of grass-roots movements, asking us to 'stay true' and make a stand for justice.
The 5 track Black Bean EP is the group’s first official offering, combining the smooth composition of the band with the devastating lyrics and flow of the Duigan siblings, garnished with slices of slick sample-heavy beats from Wollongong producer Grand Am. Black Bean EP was produced by Adelaide maestro Mario Spate (a.k.a ‘Badcop’), who has produced music for Tkay Maidza and Montaigne.
